On a beautiful September 14th fall evening and in celebration of its 10th Anniversary, Larrimor’s hosted an intimate VIP Reception for the United Way Women’s Leadership Council (WLC).  The guest of honor was inspirational educator and author Stacey Bess, who was also the keynote speaker at WLC’s 10th Annual Breakfast the very next morning.  United Way of Allegheny County President Bob Nelkin, WLC Chair Laura Ellsworth, and WLC Committee members enjoyed delicious wine and hors d’oeuvres, a personal book signing by Miss Bess and a private night of shopping with 15% of proceeds benefitting United Way.  The next morning, bright and early at 7AM, Larrimor’s little black bags were waiting for the sell-out audience of over 825 women.  And, one lucky guest walked away with a $200 Larrimor’s gift certificate!

The Women’s Leadership Council’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of women to advance the common good.  Since its inception in 2011, WLC has grown to more than 1300 members and collectively raised over $18.5 million for United Way of Allegheny County.
