Contemporary Brands at Larrimor’s

I’m always trying to preach to you the cool-girl brands that we carry at Larrimor’s. A lot of times I get the impression that people think the store is mainly menswear or catered to an older audience. Yeah, we’ve got that stuff, but there’s more to it. That’s our foundation, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t changing and keeping with the times. In fashion, we know we have to.

Here are a list of my top five it-girl approved brands that we carry.

FIVE – Rachel Roy, the main line. This isn’t the same as what you’ll find at Macy’s. It’s a better cut, a better quality, slightly more expensive but still affordable. It’s bright and youthful without being too trend-driven.

FOUR – Vince. It’s basics but better. Soft leathers, modern cuts, everyday perfection for urban girl.

THREE – Rebecca Minkoff.  With bags starting at $150 for her signature soft leather, you can splurge. They’re classic with an edge and take you from day to night with ease. Changing your handbag for everything is not something a working woman has the time to do. Try a bright color. Your handbag is where, at any age, you can have some fun.

TWO – Elizabeth and James. The Olsens design the line, and FYI they’re super talented. They beat out Marc Jacobs for best womenswear designer of the year in 2012. Everything they do is effortlessly cool. The Olsens don’t follow the trends. They start them.

ONE – Alexis Bittar. He’s a man who knows women. His jewelry is loud and proud and even better when stacked.  The line is constantly evolving and taking on new looks, but the message always remains. Make a statement. With many of his bangles in the $55-$295 price range, you won’t have to spend a million to look like a million either.
