b.may bags is a collection of luxe handbags and accessories based in Petoskey and Harbor Springs, Michigan. Dedicated to a minimalist design philosophy, using austere design elements and hardware, Barbara May offers a unique point of view in the accessories market. Each piece is crafted from exceptional materials, including hand painted embossed cowhide, Italian leathers, python and other exotic skins, and each is an ideal balance of structure, material, and color. Her bags are available in select boutiques and specialty stores across the country.

Barbara May is a self taught handbag designer with a creative background in fine arts textiles and film production. She studied with Dorian Zachai at Boston University, and has designed and hand-woven fabrics and textiles for the Schjelde label. May attended the Gulf Islands Film & Television School in Vancouver, writing and directing her own projects; her film credits include House in the Hamptons, directed by Henry Jaglom and works by the award-winning Austrian filmmaker Susie Graf. May lives in Petoskey, Michigan, with her dog Spot.
