Traveling Italian Style

Wondering what to wear in Italy? I have you covered. Italy’s clothing style varies from the north to the south, so it can be very difficult to decide which approach you would like to take when packing for this beautiful adventure! But don’t fret; I will give you the perfect tips for traveling Italian style.

Milan and other northern parts of this beautiful land have a very fashionable and over the top type of style. The culture is similar to big European capitals, where trends evolve and people customize their style according to personal taste. Why not try fur and lace from Escada? You can never go wrong when it comes to that spectacular line.

Rome and the south have more local trends and traditions. They don’t care as much when it comes to clothing, but make sure that you don’t show too much skin. They are more conservative in the way that they dress and they will definitely judge you as to what you are wearing. Locals aren’t big on overly-revealing clothing; instead try for a cute pair of jeans and a flannel. My favorites are typically from J Brand or AG.

Now for the essentials that you must pack with you… Sunglasses are a must for every season. My favorite is the Amelia by Randolph Engineering. They are made in the United States and super cute. The men’s aviators are a must as well. Another important aspect is the shoes. You will be doing a lot of walking so make sure to bring trendy flats, however you want to make sure you have fancy shoes as well with a little heel. Some venues will not allow you to enter if you don’t have a slight heel. Basically, keep it simple and you will fit in just fine. Have a great time in Roma!
