Perfect Summer Looks

Okay, can we say it’s officially summer? The weather in Pittsburgh may not necessarily reflect that (this week alone, I wore a turtleneck one day, and a floral dress the next), but it is June, and for all intents and purposes, it is bare-leg and bare-arm season!

And that makes getting dresses a little… complicated! Not because it is any harder to put together an outfit — in fact, it is actual easier… A simple frock and a pair of slides can go a long way! But with that tried and true, no frills formula can come with a sense of creativity. So how do we spice things up?

This month, I am looking at varying dress silhouettes, different layering techniques, and bold accessories to help craft outfits that are easy and cool to wear (both in trend and temperature). June may be the time for less clothing, but that does not mean the pieces you are wearing should make any less of a statement.

Jamie Lauren in J Brand

Blazers have become a seasonless staple. Opt for a lightweight fabric, like linen from J Brand, to wear when the AC is on full blast.

Leigh Ann Morgan in Fuzzi

For a simple outfit that requires little to no thought, go with Fuzzi for a monochromatic look from head to toe.

Megan Jamison in Sympli

Remember when you used to belt your dresses at your hips in middle school? Yep, looks like that trend is making its way back into the fashion world with comfy designs by Sympli!

Vera White in St John

Very “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “ladies who lunch”, etc., etc. Oh how I love looks from St John. So classic!

Beth Morton in L’Agence

For a little office appropriate attire, invest in a colorful summer suit. L’AGENCE always does it for me.
