Layered Up Secrets

I wear white year round and that “no white after Labor Day” is not a rule to live by anymore, I promise. After Valentine’s Day, does anyone else instantly get ready to pull out their spring wardrobe? It has been so cold in Pittsburgh, but with this week being in the high 60’s, I definitely have spring fever!

I have found that bringing those spring pieces out early while it’s still chilly is all in the secrets of layering.

It’s all about layers, but turtlenecks especially are such an easy staple piece to layer into your look. Another big trend I am noticing as we move into spring is layering turtlenecks with dresses. I have a few spring looks that I have been dreaming about that I cannot wait to wear this week! Why not try Skull Cashmere?

Pair a knit tunic with leather shorts. If you’re like me and always cold, keep those winter sweaters and tunics on the shelves and swap out the pants for some shorts. My favorites for the early spring season include textured leathers and floral prints. You should definitely try a leather piece by J Brand!

Cover up in an Eileen Fisher jean jacket. Take a black and white dress and toss a denim jacket over it. Throw on a hat to give a springtime vibe!

Break out the white denim! Mixing white jeans into looks is my favorite way of transitioning from winter to spring. It pairs perfectly with prints and other shades of denim, making it extra easy to play around with the secrets of layering. Add a pop of color. Brightening up your look for spring can be as simple as wearing a vibrant jacket or blazer. Be bold and go for a full color look. It is an easy way to say hello to spring and goodbye to snow!
