The sun is shining in Paris as we begin the final leg of fashion month. Fashion connoisseurs are being driven around from morning until night in their Range Rovers making the most of the final week of shows, presentations, and parties, starting with my favorite, Isabel Marant, today at 3:30pm.
This French house of fashion was founded in 1994 by designer Isabel Marant. Originally, the line consisted of only jerseys and knitwear, but today, the brand is most popular for its shoes. Excited to see the show today? I sure am, especially after the reveal of her pre-fall collection.
By her own admission, pre-fall is a commercial enterprise that should require a big press to-do. The favorites for fall were a very relaxed wardrobe full of terrific designs with special attention to details and fabrics. The key feature for her collection is comfort. Some of my favorites for fall included cozy wool-blanket coats and chunky alpaca cable-knit sweaters in bright colors with wrap skirts. She also put a twist on the wrap skirt as well as the fluid short dress to make them both cocktail attire appropriate.
Isabel Marant is best known for experimentation with color. For pre-fall, she used rust, golden yellow, green and poppy red to energize her classic blacks and whites. Circle motifs and colorful dots were printed on shirtdresses inspired by Spanish artist Regina Jimenez, which she collects. These designs were interpreted as embroideries and eyelet embellishments.
Are you excited yet for this favorites for fall collection today? It is definitely a must see show!
