Christine A. Moore, designer and owner of Christine A. Moore Millinery has been creating hats professionally for over twenty years. After studying costume design and fine arts in college she worked as a costume designer, and in many theatrical costume shops.  It was at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia where she fell in love with the craft of millinery.

In 1994 she established Christine A. Moore Millinery in NYC on 34th Street between the fashion and accessories districts.  Although Christine designs a wide range of hats, she is best known for her explosive racing styles for the Kentucky Derby, two of which are in the Kentucky Derby Museum. In 2009 she partnered with Churchill Downs and Mattel to design the official Barbie derby hat. Her hats were used in the 2009 official Kentucky Derby poster, and for the past three years she designed the Oaks hat for Kentucky’s First Lady Jane K. Beshear, and for the past three years the Preakness hat for Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

Christine’s hats have been featured on many magazine covers including InStyle with Katy Perry, Vanity Fair with Jennifer Lopez, Del Sol Magazine with Chantal Sutherland, Churchill Downs, Her Scene.  Her hats have been inside many magazines including; Sophisticated Living, Harpers’ Bazaar, Accessories, Her Scene, Ranch & Coast, Sun Magazine, SENSE Magazine, Baltimore Sun and Tops to name a few.  In the fall of 2009, Christine was named the “official hat designer for the prestigious Naples Botanical Garden”.
